Designer Nicolas Ghèsquiere launched the Motorcycle bag in 2001, near the beginning of his 15-year-long tenure at Balenciaga. The bag, crafted from supple black lambskin and with rugged hardware details, was initially created as a runway prototype.

In July 2001, the Gucci Group acquired a 91 percent stake in Balenciaga, which was founded in 1919 by Cristobal Balenciaga.
City bags come with tassels on the zipper pulls. They\\\'re thin and soft, and the most delicate part of the bag. The main zipper lining comes with two zipper pulls and 4 tassels, while the external pocket comes with one zipper pull and two tassels. Balenciaga\\\'s trusted maker for all things zipper is Lampo.
